I’ve been watching the American news again. I know that it’s unhealthy, but I’ve been away for the last forty five days, and I thought I might check in because I have this enduring hope. A hope that some catalyst is going to present itself that’s going to cause a collective headshake, and the entirety of the population is going to regain their sanity.
There are Epstein hints that this may be occurring, but there’s nothing to suggest a reverse January 6th is imminent. In fact I’ve concluded that the odds are better that Mr. Trump is going to seize all control over the midterm American elections rather than a forceful ouster of his incorrigibly corrupt arse.
It makes a person wonder what the American mantra might be in 2026?.
Is it, In God we Trust, or is it life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness? Is it all of the constitution or just some of the constitution? Is it the bill of rights, or is it bills passed by the right? There are actually an assortment of American truisms a person could select to describe the current state of affairs, but I’m thinking P.T. Barnum may have unwittingly described America of 2026 with quotes from the mid eighteen hundreds.
There’s some debate over the accuracy of the P.T. quote, There’s a sucker born every minute, and so I’ll get back to that attribution in a bit. But I’m going to start with The greatest show on earth. I think American politics is just that. A low brow reality show of outrageous behavior that keeps finding ways to be more repugnant every day. The lies alone are enough to turn my stomach, but the reasons for the lies should be enough for Starbucks to start adding gravol sprinkles to America’s morning coffee. I will concede though that the current Trump chaos is the greatest show on the planet if by that a person means shitshow, clown show or freak show.
What I’d really appreciate though is someone announcing, show’s over folks, we’ll now resume with normal programming.
But that appears unlikely when the restraint mechanisms of the American political system aren’t willing to apply some of their Hunter Biden enthusiasm to Donnie’s lawlessness. James Comer and Mike Johnson in particular are in my opinion co-collaborators even if they didn’t fornicate a fourteen year old. They have and are actively assisting with the dismantling of the rule of law and ultimately American democracy.
An objective person might conclude that their behavior and that of the entire Trump administration fits the requirements to be labelled as treasonous. But that’s just a thought I’m throwing out there. I’m not American and I’m way beyond being neutral about Donnie and the MAGA minions.
Anyway, back to Mr. Barnum quotes.
Lets start with No man ever went broke overestimating the ignorance of the American people. Seems appropriate when considering conservative and verifiable estimates of Presidency dollars made by Don and family. The number is 3,400 000,000. That’s a lot of zero’s and it doesn’t take into account Arab jets, golf trips or his current lawsuit for 10,000,000,000 because his tax returns were leaked. Also that number is based on what’s known. But given the depths of the Trump family honesty and transparency, I’m sure all taxpaying Americans are comfortable he’s not hiding anything.
Moving on.
The bigger the humbug the better people will like it. For clarity I looked up humbug in Merriam Webster. It means something designed to deceive and mislead. Willfully false and deceptive. Sounds like P.T. nailed it, and I’m thinking he might have chosen gaslighting if he were around today instead of an era where gaslighting was how the streets of New York were illuminated.
I said I’d return to the sucker born every minute quote. As I said there’s some argument that PT’s words were amended and so I’ll offer three other quotes that may have been the basis of the alteration. In no particular order then here they are:
The common man no matter how smart and tough, actually enjoys having the wool pulled over his eyes and makes it easier for the puller.
There’s a fool born every minute.
You can fool most of the people most of the time.
Notice the redundancy of the word fool? I hope with every fiber of my being that most Americans were somehow inexplicably fooled. I hope Americans have temporarily behaved foolishly and will come to their senses before the rest of the world concludes that they’re a nation of fools who cannot be trusted again. I hope Mr. Barnum is incorrect.
But that’s a lot of hoping, and hoping for something to happen is kind of like thoughts and prayers. It’s a nice gesture but rarely accomplishes anything.
I think though that American is perilously close to running out of time. While the herd settles in for the Superbowl and a bad bunny halftime argument, the department of justice is busy redacting and withholding documents ordered delivered by a law of congress. At the same time a UAE Sheikh has been proven to have gifted half a billion dollars to the Trump family crypto scheme, which Eric is apparently keeping as opposed to donating to the ball room and Kennedy center renovations. Jimmy and Mikey are unconcerned. Jimmy is probably exhausted from all the effort he expended investigating a Joe Biden loan to his brother for a truck, and Mikey is too busy monitoring his sons porn usage.
Meanwhile Tulsi is seizing voting machines in Georgia, ICE is killing people in Minnesota and Donnie just approved a media merger between Nexstar and Tenga that will allow one media company access to 80 % of American households. Donnie crowed over his approval saying that this would provide an alternative to the fake news mainstream media enemy. Enemy for fuck sakes. This presidential approval by the way directly contravenes federal law where the maximum access allowed by one source is set at 39%. Speaking of Tulsi, a whistleblower report that accuses her of some egregious behavior, is apparently so top secret sensitive that Tulsi has decided the law forcing her to turn that report over to congress needs to be ignored, and the report stashed away in a safe.
Interesting how irrelevant congress is to this administration. Also interesting is how little congress appears to care about their irrelevancy.
I’m actually waiting for Mikey to announce that the next session of congress is going to begin with a screening of Melody’s new Amazon funded movie. Melody some may argue is disparaging of the innocent immigrant, clean hands first lady. Maybe I should refer to her as sweety pie as Ghislaine liked to call her.
I wonder all the time if America has succumbed to the PT effect where they either don’t care they’re being deceived or if they’re unaware they’re being deceived. Either way the result is the same. Canada and Europe are drifting away both in trade partnerships and commonalities as a people, and America doesn’t appear to care. The democracy that was the United States is being replaced with a Russian style Czar and a series of American oligarchs. They are above the law and only answer to the Czar because he controls policing and the military. The American princes grow wealthier and the peasants have to learn to make do without healthcare.
The peace president has morphed into the acquisition of real estate president. Forcefully taking Venezuelan oil and threatening Greenland minerals don’t seem particularly peaceful, but I guess it makes him look and sound like a tough guy. Donnie likes people to think he’s a tough guy. Although sometimes I think that oil was just a Venezuelan bonus. The real pay off is going to be when Don cancels the midterms because Maduro testified in a closed door meeting with Tulsi that Venezuelan tech wizards compromised the voting machines when Donnie lost to Joe.
However the testimony of a dictator might not be enough, and so it would seem a supplemental excuse to cancel elections may be necessary. Two options seem available. The first is the seizure of voting machines to be secreted away where only you have the access to examine them. If America isn’t buying that bullshit then the second option will be activated. I.C.E. will become even more aggressive until they force a situation that involves a good old American shootout. Or as Don will immediately call it, an insurrection.
Once the insurrection act is in effect, then he can start arresting traitors and disappear those pesky Epstein files once and for all. I think too that once Donnie gets a taste of the powers of the insurrection act that he’s going to want a state of perpetual insurrection. Kind of like his use of the emergency economic powers act when his feelings are hurt, and he needs to tariff whoever made him sad.
Fuck the economy, Carney didn’t kneel before his magnificence and respect his authority. That’s sacrilege and a good excuse to send the marines to secure aluminum, water, wheat, potash, oil, hydroelectric infrastructure, an arctic sea route and whatever we find under the melting arctic ice. It actually wouldn’t surprise me if a couple of seal teams were helicoptered into Ottawa to seize the Canadian Prime Minister for trial in Washington.
For being a terrorist I assume.
The American melting pot is coming to a boil. If Americans allow fucknuts to control or stop the midterm elections then that pot has effectively boiled over and one man runs the show. He can do whatever he wants to whomever he wants and nothing short of a second civil war will stop him.
Given the abundant evidence of his perversion and psychopathy it’s a no brainer that unfettered Don will be a disaster on a global scale. Canadians shudder at the prospect and I really think the Liberals should rethink any attempt to disarm Canadians before the mid term American elections are over and Donnie didn’t get to do the voting tabulation.
So, one last hope from me.
I hope Americans can prove Mr. Barnum wrong.
