I stayed up late to watch the midterm election results. I’m pleased with those results, although I’m not entirely sure what motivated the American voters to cast their ballots the way they did, and I have a nagging sense of unease over the use of the terms blue wave and blue tsunami.
I’ll start with motivation. Apparently the average American voter is more concerned about gas prices than integrity. I find this concept understandable, but at the same time disturbing. I can’t help but wonder about the ethical shortfall of a voter that can ignore the Epstein files as long as they don’t have to catch a bus. But I think what really bothered me was the post election interviews with the average American voter. The average Joe and Josephine’s who when questioned actually had to go through a list of reasons, and then decide which of those reasons provided the motivation to not vote Republican.
A list.
And with the exception of Ken Paxton’s criminality, the list belonged to Don. So, whether he was on the ballot or not, his list of actions and inactions most certainly were on that ballot. It was strange watching the people being interviewed cycle through that list and eventually land on the one item that motivated them to cast their anti-republican vote. Some said gas, some said groceries. The Iran war was a popular choice, and then there were tariffs, healthcare cuts, rampant corruption, I.C.E. the frigging ballroom, the Epstein files, pardons, dementia, Elon Musk, a hit squad called the justice department, Pete and the department of fucking war, politically motivated purges of government officials, Trump’s Putin adoration, the deranged John Kennedy, and data centers.
And these reasons were only the greatest hits. The list continued depending on the personal circumstances of who was being interviewed, and the more I watched the more it bothered me.
It bothered me because I didn’t hear many reasons to vote Democrat. Although I guess it’s not unusual in any country where voting is allowed, that the citizens are motivated to vote a party out of power as much as they’re motivated to vote a party into power. And if you only have two choices, then out for one is an automatic in for the other.
Basically the republicans fucked up so badly that the people decided to throw them out regardless of who and what was going to take their place, and I’m not sure that’s a blue wave I was hoping for. Also since when did a three percentage point victory become a landslide? I watched the actual numbers scroll across the bottom of my computer screen and the margins were relatively close, so although the Democrats won the seats, it was apparent that just under half of America still believes that Democrats are communist transexual lovers, who are going to force Apple to install a mandatory Islamic call to prayer on their fucking I-phones.
So, I’m inclined to believe that regardless of whose asses are seated in the congress and the senate, that there hasn’t been a fundamental change in the American mindset. Which means that in two years another magaman is a distinct possibility.
In fact it’s a probability.
Because the right wing mouthpieces and the Foxholes will regroup, and immediately begin to incite the base with as much bullshit as they can generate. No actual evidence will be required. Just the usual fare of fearmongering disguised as opinion.
Fuck facts, we’re appealing to the base, and with that in mind I’m recommending a name change. A rebrand because those gals and fella’s that the right wing knob gobblers have their sights set upon are pretty comfortable with baseless.
So henceforth I shall refer to MAGA as the baseless. It feels right, and I like the concept of replacing base with baseless in every newscast commentary.
Anyway……….my title choice suggests that I think things are going to get worse.
I really don’t know how they can’t when the man in charge is a malignant narcissist psychopath with dementia and hurt feelings. A man who has demonstrated repeatedly that he gives zero fucks about anything or anyone except himself, and who instinctively lashes out at anyone who makes him sad. The American voters have made him sad and he’s going to do everything in his power to make them pay.
Steven Miller promoted is a harbinger of things to come, and if anyone doubts that assertion then maybe Dana White can explain the decision at the next press secretary briefing.
In short order the Democrats are going to be obliged to keep their word and begin investigations of what the fuck the Trump administration has been up to behind closed doors. Donnie is already feeling cornered and acting the fool, so I can’t see any other outcome except unbridled insanity as the Epstein files are finally released and details surface of his 3721 stock trades, and the rest of his families financial crimes.
And that’s only two of the items from the list I referenced a while ago.
So. I think that Dana and Steven are just the beginning. Pretty much anyone with intact sanity in the Trump orbit has to see the writing on the wall, and they have a decision to make. Do they bail or do they go down with the ship? I think sanity bails and insanity stays put. That’s not a good thing in my estimation. Kind of reminds me of a Hitler bunker scenario where all of the craziest psycho’s gathered around dear leader at the end. No wonder Melania is staying away. She’s probably considering how things worked out for Eva Braun, so she’s gathering Baron and all of her gold and valuables and planning a return to Slovenia.
I’m thinking it’s going to be challenging for the investigation committee’s to deliver a subpoena to Novo Mesto.
To make matters worse, Mr. Trump has a demonstrated aversion for accountability. Nothing is ever his fault and so as those investigative details start to become public, he’s going to need scapegoats.
Hegseth for example.
So assuming Pete gets the boot before he orders a tactical nuke aimed at Tehran, I’m left wondering who the hell is Donnie going to find to replace all the turfed goats? I mentioned a sanity exodus a few lines ago, and so the question that keeps popping into my head is who in their right mind would willingly volunteer to sign up for the Trump team at this exact moment in time?
And the answer I keep arriving at is Kid Rock, Laura Loomer and Nicki Minaj. I don’t know where to go after those candidates, but three replacements aren’t going to be enough. Because I’m confident that without exception, every member of the Trump administration has pulled off some shady shit that is going to get exposed.
All of them.
I’m not sure how the congress is going to deal with that reality. Are they going to decide that if you stole under a million, didn’t wipe you ass with the constitution on a daily basis, and didn’t commit crimes against humanity that you get a pass? Kind of like saying, well yeah, you were in the S.S. but you weren’t a concentration camp commandant so we’re going to let this slide.
It’s fucking surreal, and it makes me crazy thinking about how the next two years of America is going to work out with an entire administration looking over their shoulder for a process server.
Donnie’s narcissism would never allow it but I honestly believe the best scenario for America would be as follows:
Donnie gives pardons to his family, his doners, and to himself. Everyone takes their loot and goes home, and the Americans steam clean the lingering filth out of the white house and elect a new president.
A restart and the end of the art of the deal with another FDR new deal. I don’t think it’s probable because of the precedent it would set for avoiding accountability, but just like FDR this new deal would help alleviate the effects of a national depression.
